Meedja was established in 2001 by Sarah Bradley, to continue using her experience with physical media, authoring titles for the film, TV and music industries.
As DVD and Blu-ray flourished, so did Meedja, becoming one of the top authoring houses in the UK. The rise of streaming services gradually impacted the requirement for physical media and Meedja navigated the changes within the market.
With the development of Dolby Atmos, Blu-ray once again became a necessary. Meedja was one of the first studios to work with this new format, allowing classic concerts and albums to be reimagined in an immersive way.
This format necessitated entire-album visualisers and Meedja delight in working with artist’s artwork to imagine these pieces.
Across the years Meedja has seen lots of firsts – from the first DVD in the UK, many titles reaching the top of the sales charts to the first DVD to outsell the album version of a title in the US.
Sarah Bradley is the owner-manager of Meedja Limited who authored the first commercially available DVD in the UK. After gaining a Masters degree in engineering, Sarah started her working life in Post Production Engineering at the BBC. She then did a stint in the West End post-production world before heading-up the fledgling DVD team at Abbey Road Studios.
A period as a DVD Product Specialist for Sony allowed international travel and full knowledge of the market, before setting up Meedja in West London in 2001. The rest is history.
